How do you like this rainbow ride? 🙂 This is just a small part of the retro car collection exhibited in “Auto World” Vintage Car Museum (Ahmedabad). I’m rather indifferent to automobiles, and I could never understand the fascination around the latest version of this and that model. A car is merely a means of getting from point A to point B. But visiting the “Auto World” Vintage Car Museum was no mistake.
The collection is a private possession of a local businessman who decided to make these cars accessible to the public. There are more than 100 vintage cars displayed in the spacious halls of the museum. It’s a wonderful glimpse into the past, when an automobile served as an instrument to make a powerful statement and emphasize one’s social status. Treated as a symbol of wealth and style, an automobile was bound to be beautiful. I was walking past the rows of old Rolls Royces, Cadillacs, Fords, Chryslers, Mercedeses, Dodges and Packards, and they didn’t fail to keep my interest till the end of the visit. Besides this, there were small sections dedicated to the old motorcycles, carriages and horse carts. Also, for RS 500 they’ll give you a pompous 3.5 km chauffeur driven ride in one of the vintage cars.
The museum has a reputation as a family-oriented place – there was a nice restaurant and a play park for kids. Also,

The place is located around 30 km from Ahmedabad. The rickshaw drivers are willing to take one there from Ahmedabad railway station for Rs 250.
