Greetings, friends! How is life treating you these few days after we bid goodbye to 2017? Hope you had a fabulous festive season and are ready for a fresh start in whatever you’re up to. My Christmas and New Year were fabulous, mostly thanks to the kids. There is no better way to celebrate than to create a fairy tale for those who still believe in magic 🙂
Anyway, I have some major travel related plans for 2018, so yes, stay tuned! Last year turned out to be very, VERY productive for me where travel is concerned, and it well deserved to be reviewed in a dedicated post on travel highlights, ups and downs, lessons learned and moments to remember. But before I finish with that, I thought I’d share some Instagram photos with you, which, according to this site, received the most likes from my followers in 2017. Even though I took way too long to join Instagram, I enjoyed sharing my travel experiences on this engaging social media platform all through the last year. And these nine photos were the ones people found the most interesting:
Let’s have a closer look at each of them:
1.The Tapovan area in Nasik
Located along the banks of the Godavari river, the Tapovan area in Nasik is a picturesque area with rocky banks, smothered by water over the centuries, and statues of Rama, Sita and Lakshman against the backdrop of the sky. Once a peaceful and serene place for meditation, now it’s a popular touristic site and a pilgrimage destination (it’s in this place where Lakshman cut off Shurpanakha’s nose, according the belief). When in Nasik, visiting Tapovan is a pleasant change after busy streets (if no groups of teenage boys keep asking you for a selfie, of course 🙂 ).
2.Champaner-Pavagadh archaeological park
