When it comes to street food in India, there is no better option for me than corn on the cob – the combination of tastes encompassed in this simple snack is absolutely fantastic! I’d say, if you try an Indian corn on the cob with chili and lime, the chances are you’ll never resort to whatever sort of corn you’ve eaten before.
This is what you’ll need:
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1 tablespoon of salt
2 limes (small round ones)
And this what you’ll do:
Boil, grill or bake your corn. Grilling is preferable to boiling or baking if you want your snack to have the most authentic taste – the Indian street vendors cook their corn this way:
They place it on the hot coals and then quickly wave with a piece of wooden plank, flat tin or even a thin paperback to make the coals burn brighter.
Mix the chili powder and salt. Cut your lime in half, deep it into the mix of chili powder and salt and rub the corn thoroughly. Make sure to squeeze the lime juice when rubbing. Your Indian corn on the cob is ready. Enjoy! It’s a bit messy, but never mind 🙂
