My life in India

When dreams come true, or Of my camel ride in India

When I was a little girl I used to dream of riding a horse. I suppose it was an influence of all the fairy tales I read and movies I watched- they rarely go without a hero riding one of these marvelous creatures. But somehow I never had a chance to try horse riding, or perhaps it was a subconscious attempt to avoid any decisive action because… well, it was just so pleasant to dream about it.

Years later, when I stopped being a little girl and happened to move to India, I went for a trip to Lonavla. In one of the spots they were offering visitors a camel ride. Do you think I hesitated for one moment? 🙂 Riding this animal was something out of this world – he walked slowly, rhythmically shaking his body and nodding his head, peaceful, confident and dignified. Now I know for sure why they describe  camels as ships of the desert. Also, I know why I never tried horse riding – destiny had something more exciting for me in hand 🙂
